Oberlin, Ohio – The Wittenberg women's soccer team traveled to Oberlin taking on the Yeowomen in a North Coast Athletic Conference showdown on Saturday afternoon. Wittenberg would take down the Yeowomen 2-1 as the final buzzer sounded coming back from an early 1-0 deficit. The Tigers would not be phased by the shot count after the first half, as Oberlin held Wittenberg to just one shot. Though the Tigers made the most of their chances early on scoring on their one shot in the first half. Wittenberg would come back to lead the shot total in the second half 9-4, putting pressure on the Oberlin defense early in the second half.
Game Breakdown
The Yeowomen would strike first, netting their first goal in the 4th minute of action. The Tigers would not be kept off the board for long, as Megan Davis would find the back of the Oberlin net in the 13th minute of action, coming off of the Missy Bernhardt assist, tying the game at 1-1. Wittenberg would come out of the break firing as Taylor Vaughn-Stanton would assist Sydney Weaver on her third goal of the season, putting the second goal on the board for the Tigers in the 46th minute of action.

Oberlin would lead the shot count by a narrow margin at the end of the day 12-10, the Yeowomen took eight shots in the first half. Wittenberg would lead the corner kick tally at the end of the game 4-3. Junior Kelly Corbin and freshman Emma Schewe would work to keep the clean sheet against the Yeowomen.

Wittenberg will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 6 when they travel to NCAC rival Wooster for a 1:00 PM contest.
