Coach Robinson Seeks To Raise Money For Former Teammate With Capital Opener

The Wittenberg Women's Soccer team opens their 2018 season at Capital University on August 31, 2018 at 7PM in Bernlohr Stadium in Bexley. The stadium is a very familiar place for Head Coach of the Tigers and Capital Alum, Katie Robinson.

Together, both Wittenberg and Capital are using this opening day of their season to help another Capital Women's Soccer alum, and former teammate of Robinson, Natasha Churches (Ballard).

Natasha's mother, Norma Ballard, underwent surgery on June 27, 2018 and has faced many complications on her road to recovery. Since that surgery, Norma has undergone blood transfusions, additional surgery, MRSA-Pneumonia and has been placed on a ventilator, as she cannot breathe on her own. The Doctors originally estimated that Norma would need to be in the ICU at OSU Medical Center for 4-6 months.  At this time, it has not yet been determined how long Norma will need to remain in the Hospital under direct medical care or whether she would potentially move to a long term care facility.

Among all of the emotional hardships that Natasha has been faced with during this difficult time, she has taken in her 14 year-old step sister and been forced to take on the unexpected financial burden of supporting not only her own home and business but also her mother's financials including all of her bills, both personal and medical.

In order to help raise funds for Natasha and help lessen her financial burden, the Capital and Wittenberg Women's Soccer Teams have asked that you pay admission to attend the game on August 31, 2018 at 7pm at Capital.

The admissions charge for those attending the game is any donation you're willing to give; no donation is too small or too big. The funds collected at the game for admission will be donated directly to Natasha to help cover the expenses she has taken on as she continues to support her mother and step sister.
