Springfield, Ohio – The United Soccer Coaches Association announced their 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer All-Great Lakes Region Team. The Wittenberg women's team placed two players amongst the 39 honorable award winners. Jordyn Wright and Emma Thacker earned Third Team All-Great Lakes Region Honors for the Tigers this season. As Wittenberg earned their second straight postseason NCAA Tournament bid, defeating Kenyon College 1-0 in the NCAC Tournament Championship Final.
This is the second individual award of the year each for Wright and Thacker. Finishing her final season with four goals and two assists for the Tigers, Wright was named First Team All-NCAC. Thacker remained a constant presence on the Wittenberg back line, collecting First Team All-NCAC at the defensive position for the second consecutive season.
Coming off the fifth NCAC Tournament Championship in program history. Wittenberg closed out the season with a 9-7-3 mark and 5-3 in NCAC action, the Tigers are now 5-7 in NCAA postseason play. Wittenberg ended their season winning eight of their final 11 games.
