Wittenberg Women's Soccer Takes Down Ohio Wesleyan

Delaware, Ohio – The Wittenberg University women's soccer team picked up a much-needed conference win, taking down NCAC foe Ohio Wesleyan 3-0 from the road. This win pushes the Tigers above the .500 mark in NCAC play, before they travel to Hiram for their final match of the season.  Wittenberg tallied all three of their goals in the final forty-five minutes of action, starting with a Leah Soutar goal from Kaitlyn Krieg in the 51st minute. The Tiger's controlled the paced taking double-digit shots in both halves of play while allowing just eight open looks to the Battling Bishops.

GAME BREAKDOWN

  • Jordyn Wright was next to find the back of the net for Wittenberg off the Taylor Vaughn assist, giving the Tigers a 2-0 lead with just under thirty minutes to play.
  • After she assisted on the second goal, it would be Vaughn to score the final Wittenberg goal, putting away the Emily Thomas cross past the Ohio Wesleyan keeper.
  • Wittenberg tallied 33 shots to the Battling Bishops eight through the night.
  • Hannah Wilson and Kelly Corbin combined for the shutout.
