Wittenberg Women's Soccer Celebrates Senior Day

Springfield, Ohio – The Wittenberg women's soccer team sent off six seniors on Saturday afternoon before their game against Allegheny. Celebrating the careers of Lauren Hofer, Allison Ruman, Julia Smith, Leah Soutar, Hannah Wilson and Jordyn Wright before the start of the match. This senior class holds an overall record of 35-24-8 and 19-9-1 in the NCAC. During their career, they helped the Tigers achieve a 2016 NCAC Regular Season Championship while receiving an NCAA Tournament bid that same year.

As the match begun, it would be Jordan Wright who would score the lone goal for Wittenberg, coming off the Kaitlyn Krieg assist. Allegheny would put their first goal in before the half to tie the game at 1-1 going into the break. The Gators would score two goals in the final twenty minutes to take the 3-1 road win.

Wittenberg would have plenty of chances on goal, taking six shots in the first half to Allegheny's two, leading the game 15-4. The second half saw plenty of opportunities with three shots hitting off the post.  Krieg led the goal scoring chances placing three of her four shots on goal.
