Tigers Travel To Wisconsin-Whitewater for "W" Challenge

Whitewater, Wis. – The Wittenberg women's soccer team traveled to Whitewater, Wisconsin over the weekend, taking on the Warhawks of Wis.-Whitewater and Illinois Wesleyan in the "W" Challenge. The Tigers took game one into overtime on Friday against the Warhawks, falling in the hard-fought match by a final score of 2-1. Each team found the back of the net in the second half of the first game on Friday, as Megan Davis tallied the lone goal for the Tigers. Game two saw the Tigers faceoff against the Spartans of Illinois Wesleyan, in a physical match that saw one goal and four yellow cards. Wittenberg would get only five shots off compared to the Spartans 17 in the 1-0 loss to close out the weekend.

GAME NOTES

  • Senior keeper Hannah Wilson made twelve saves over the weekend, playing the duration of both games in net for the Tigers.
  • Davis accounted for three of the five Wittenberg shots on goal against Wisconsin-Whitewater.
