OBERLIN, Ohio—Wittenberg women's soccer exploded for three unanswered goals in a 3-0 win over the Yeowomen of Oberlin College. The Tigers stuck to their game plan defensively, allowing the red and white to stay on the attack all afternoon in a tough environment to compete in. The Tigers shutout is their second of the season, with both coming in NCAC play. With the win, the Tigers improve to 8-3-2 overall in 2016, and 3-1 overall in NCAC play.
MATCH BREAKDOWN
- Wittenberg got on the board early on in Saturdays match, as Kyrie Bumpus knocked in a cross from Kenzie Mason in the 4th minute of action at Oberlin.
- 50 minutes later, Morgan Jones found the back of the net on a upper 90 shot from Lauren Hofer to take a 2-0 lead just after halftime.
- Putting the game out of reach in the 77th minute was Nicoleta Shouvlin, who poked in a header from Taylor Vaughn-Stanton to go up 3-0.
KEY STATS
- Hannah Wilson earned the shutout after logging 77 minutes in net, as the keeper notched two saves on the only two shots on goal in the match.
- The Tigers produced 14 shots on goal to Oberlin's six, as Leah Soutar led the Tigers with two shots on goal.

- "Oberlin is a tough place to come and get good on-field results…We knew we had to perform well for an entire 90 minutes and that is what we did. We are very happy with today's result," said Coach Fannon.
