SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—Wittenberg women's soccer improved to 6-3-2 on the year with a 1-0 victory over Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday. Wittenberg played in front of a packed house in the NCAC matchup, as Tigers past and present were in attendance as a part of Wittenberg's Homecoming festivities. In one of the most physical matches on Edwards-Maurer Field in 2016, Wittenberg outlasted the Battling Bishops, as Shannon Brueck notched the go-ahead goal in the second half in the 58th minute.
GAME NOTES
- Wittenberg outshot the Battling Bishops 14 to one in the match, as Hannah Wilson recorded one save on the day.
- Brueck's goal is her first of the year, as the sophomore from Milford, Ohio has come on strong as of late for the Tigers.
- As a team, Wittenberg produced seven shots on goal in the match, on their way to their second NCAC victory in as many tries.
