Women's Soccer Drops Season Opener to #9 Thomas More, 3-0

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Kentucky-- Wittenberg women's soccer made the trip just across the Ohio boarder to Thomas More College to open up the 2016 campaign on Thursday. On a chilly fall-like evening, the Tigers did battle with the number nine ranked team in the nation, holding their own on the road after allowing three first-half goals. Despite the early hole that was dug, the Tigers managed to let their stellar second-half defense produce offensive opportunities at the other end of the field. The Tigers dropped the match 3-0 and moved to 0-1 on the season. A quick turnaround for the program, Wittenberg is set to return to Springfield and take on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at 11:00 Saturday at Edwards Maurer Field.
