DANVILLE, Ky. - The Wittenberg Tigers scored an early goal but ultimately couldn't keep pace with Centre as the 10th-ranked Colonels improved to 6-0 on the season with 5-1 victory.

Wittenberg fell to 3-2-1 on the season, heading into a weekend road trip to another perennial national powerhouse, Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Centre jumped on top just 2:46 into the game, but senior Kate Burns (Granger, Ind./Penn) drew the Tigers even with an unassisted goal in the 10th minute. The Colonels then took control, scoring goals at the 29:02 mark and the 44:05 mark to take a 3-1 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Over the final 45 minutes, Centre added goals in the 70th minute and the 88th minute to account for the final margin. The Colonels held a 17-7 advantage in shots, and Centre was awarded six corner kicks in the game. Wittenberg did not attempt a corner kick.

Burns led Wittenberg with three shots in the game, while sophomore Lauren Hofer (Avon, Ind./Cardinal Ritter) was right behind with two. At the other end of the field, sophomore Hannah Wilson (Pickerington, Ohio/North) was credited with three saves.
