Tobie Weston Earns All-Great Lakes Region Honors

Springfield, Ohio – Wittenberg University women’s soccer midfielder Tobie Weston (Worthington, Ohio/Worthington Christian) has earned second-team 2014 All-Great Lakes Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). 

The all-region award is the first of Weston’s tremendously successful Wittenberg career, which also included four postseason honors from the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). After honorable mention awards from the league in 2011 and 2012, Weston moved up to first-team All-NCAC in both 2013 and 2014. Additionally, Weston earned second-team All-Ohio from the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association in 2013. 

Weston started all 17 games in the 2014 season, and she finished as the team’s second-highest scorer with five goals and two assists for 12 total points. For her career, Weston contributed nine goals and 10 assists for a total of 28 points while starting 71 of 75 games. The Tigers won a pair of NCAC regular season championships during Weston’s career. 

In 2014, the Tigers posted records of 8-8-1 overall and 4-4-0 in the NCAC. Wittenberg finished fourth in the final NCAC standings and advanced to the league tournament before losing 2-0 to eventual champion Kenyon in the semifinal round.
