DELAWARE, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers continued to win the games that matter the most, capturing their second straight shutout against North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) competition with a 3-0 win over host Ohio Wesleyan.

Wittenberg improved to 6-5-2 overall, but more importantly the Tigers are now 2-0-0 in the NCAC. The last six games on the 2013 schedule are against conference opponents as the Tigers look to defend their 2012 regular season title.

Ohio Wesleyan fell to 3-8 overall and 0-2 in the league.

Wittenberg kicked off the scoring with a goal by junior Chelsea Marcum (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) at the 20:48 mark of the first half. The assist went to sophomore Kate Burns (Granger, Ind./Penn).

The Tigers broke the game open over the final 45 minutes. Senior Kayla Murphy (Dayton, Ohio/Stebbins) tallied in the 54th minute and junior Tobie Weston (Worthington, Ohio/Worthington Christian) rounded things out with a goal in the 84th minute. Weston's goal was unassisted after she played the through ball to free up Murphy for her goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maggie Grieser (St. Paris, Ohio/Graham) got the start in goal and made the most of it, recording three saves. Ohio Wesleyan took nine shots, compared to 21 for the Tigers.
