CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers fired a whopping 34 shots at the Mount St. Joseph goal. However, none of them found the back of the Lions' net as the two teams setteld for a 0-0 tie.

Wittenberg, which has allowed a measly six goals through nine non-conference games, is now 3-4-2 on the season. Mount St. Joseph is now 1-7-2.

Just 13 of Wittenberg's 34 shots were on target, and all of them were saved by Lions' goalkeeper Madison Freeman. At the other end, freshman netminder Kelsey Lorko (Fairview Park, Ohio/Fairview) was credited with four saves. It was the Tigers' third shutout of the 2013 season, thanks in no small part to the tremendous work of the backline defenders, spearheaded by center backs Erin Rowell (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Twp.) and Mary Clare Yerke (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington).

Twelve of Wittenberg's shots came after the conclusion of 90 minutes of regulation, including eight in the 10-minute second overtime alone. Nine different Wittenberg players were credited with at least two shots, led by sophomores Kate Burns (Granger, Ind./Penn) and Kaylee Gialamas (Willoughby, Ohio/Hawken) with five each. The Tigers were without the services of leading scorer Kayla Murphy (Dayton, Ohio/Stebbins) due to an academic commitment.
