HANOVER, Ind. – The Wittenberg Tigers spent most of the day playing catch-up. Just two minutes after the tying goal was scored, however, host Hanover stunned the Tigers with a goal with just 29 seconds left on the clock to secure a 2-1 victory.

The win was Hanover's third of the season without a defeat. Wittenberg fell to 1-2-1 in the early going of the 2013 campaign, heading into a challenging home date with Thomas More on Sunday, Sept. 8.

The Panthers got on the board first on a header by Tricia Walsh in the 31st minute. It took Wittenberg more than 57 minutes to answer, but the Tigers finally did just that as senior Lindsay Janmey (Hinckley, Ohio/Highland) finished a cross by junior Chelsey Marcum (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) with a header for her first score of the season and the second of her collegiate career.

Hanover bounced right back to pick up the game winner at the 89:31 mark. The Panthers finished with an 18-15 advantage in shots and a 9-4 edge in corner kick opportunities. Wittenberg's defense was backstopped by the tandem of freshman Kelsey Lorko (Fairview Park, Ohio/Fairview) and sophomore Maggie Grieser (St. Paris, Ohio/Graham), who combined to make 11 saves in the game.

Offensively, sophomore Kate Burns (Granger, Ind./Penn) led the way with six shots, while Janmey, senior Leslie Oliver (Enon, Ohio/Greenon) and freshman Mackenzie Fisler (Batavia, Ohio/Batavia) added two shots apiece.
