Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University women's soccer standouts Kailey Striebel, class of 2013 from Kettering, Ohio, and Erin McLeish, class of 2011 from Dublin, Ohio, have earned All-Great Lakes Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

It is the first regional award for either student-athlete. Striebel, an offensive-minded midfielder, earned first-team honors, while McLeish, a defender, picked up a spot on the second team.

Striebel moved up from the second team to the first team in the 2010 All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) postseason awards after leading the Tigers with nine goals, seven assists and 25 total points. Three of her goals were game-winners.

A starter in all 41 games of her collegiate career, Striebel finished with five goals and a team-best four assists in 2009. Three of her goals a year ago were game-winners.

McLeish, also named first-all-conference this year, played three seasons at Wittenberg, moving from a reserve midfielder who appeared in 20 of the team's 21 games in 2008 to a defensive stalwart who started all 19 games in 2010. Remarkably, four of McLeish's five career collegiate goals were credited as game-winners, including three of the four she scored in 2010.

The Tigers put together another stellar season in 2010, finishing 13-5-1 overall and 5-2-0 in the NCAC, good for a second-place tie before bowing out of the NCAC Tournament in the semifinals. The Tigers' streak of four straight NCAA Division III Tournament appearances ended when the Tigers were not selected as an at-large team.
