Denison Overpowers Tigers 3-0 In Granville

GRANVILLE, Ohio — The Wittenberg women's soccer team took their first North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) loss of the 2010 season Tuesday night in a 3-0 decision at the feet of host Denison University. The Tigers fall to 2-1-0 in the NCAC and 10-3-1 overall with the defeat.

The Big Red fired on all cylinders against Wittenberg, holding a 12-7 lead in shots throughout the match and putting three shots on goal to the Tigers' one.

Sophomore forward Kailey Striebel (Kettering, Ohio/Fairmont) provided the one shot on goal and two shots overall, a figure matched by junior forward Sheryl Chambers (Victorville, Calif./St. Joan of Arc).

Freshman defender Lindsay Janmey (Hinckley, Ohio/Highland), sophomore midfielder/forward Amy Cook (Hilliard, Ohio/Darby) and senior forward Cailyn Roeble (Columbus, Ohio/DeSales) each shot once in the game.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16, with a 4:30 p.m. road match at Oberlin.
