Wittenberg Women's Soccer Coach Fran Kulas Resigns

Fran Kulas SPRINGFIELD, Ohio Wittenberg University Womens Soccer Coach Fran Kulas has resigned his position after three years on the job. He departs to become the director of coach and player development for the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association.

Kulas led the Tigers to a three-year record of 24-25-4, including the teams first winning season in five years in 2000 and its first winning North Coast Athletic Conference record in six years in 2001. Wittenberg participated in the last two NCAC tournaments and received a Great Lakes Regional ranking as high as fifth in 2001. Kulas was responsible for two recruiting classes while at Wittenberg, each of which produced the NCAC Newcomer of the Year, and he coached a total of 14 all-conference players.

In his new position, Kulas is responsible for all aspects of the Olympic Development program and coaching education program for the entire state of Kentucky and the 40,000 registered youth soccer players. He will live and work in Lexington.

While at Wittenberg, Kulas was involved in the Ohio South Olympic Development program. He served as head coach for the District III U-17/18/19 girls team from 1999-2001, and he was the head coach of the U-15 girls state team in 2001. He was on staff as an instructor for both the Ohio South and Ohio North State level coaching schools, and he was a featured clinician in 2000 and 2001 at the Ohio High School Soccer Coaches Assocation symposia.
