Wittenberg Women's Lax Holds Off Ohio Wesleyan 13-12

Springfield, Ohio – The Wittenberg women's lacrosse team held off the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan to secure the 13-12 victory in their final game of the 2018 season. The two sides were evenly matched through the first thirty minutes of action, with each team scoring eight goals in the first half to go into the break at a deadlock. Wittenberg won the draw control battle on the day edging out the Battling Bishops by a 22-5 margin. Four Tigers finished with multiple goals on the evening, as Victoria Zysik led the scoring effort with four goals on nine shots, contributing on two assists with three ground balls picked up. With Gabby Zysik adding three goals on six shot attempts, adding four ground balls and an assist to help the Wittenberg offensive effort against the Battling Bishops. Shannon Brown and Emily Wadds would each find the back of the Ohio Wesleyan net twice during the game. Wadds would go on to grab 17 of the 22 Tiger draw control wins on the day. As Wittenberg held on to a narrow lead in the second half, Faith Meads would score her first goal of the game coming on the assist from Brown.
