Wittenberg Women's Lacrosse Falls To Denison

Springfield, Ohio – The Wittenberg women's lacrosse team hosted the Denison Big Red on Wednesday, falling to their NCAC rival 23-6. Wittenberg recorded 13 shots on the day, picking up 11 ground balls with 11 of 19 successful clear attempts. The Tigers won the draw control category taking 16, while the Big Red won 15. Wittenberg was led by Rachel Bernard and Faith Meads as the pair each tallied two goals each.

GAME BREAKDOWN

Bernard put the Tigers on the board off the Emily Wadds assist after Denison took an early three-goal advantage. Meads would cut the Big Red lead in half with the second Wittenberg goal, coming from Victoria Zysik. Bernard would strike again with just over 17-minutes to go in the first half. Zysik was the first to score for the Tigers coming out of the intermission, giving Wittenberg their fourth goal of the game. Wadds and Meads would find the back of the net with under five and a half minutes to play.
