Women's Lacrosse Drops Road Contest To Mount Union

Alliance, Ohio – The Wittenberg women's lacrosse team traveled to Mount Union on Tuesday night, falling to the Raiders 19-6 at the end of regulation. The Tiger's posted four goals in the first half on 12 shots. Emily Wadds was the leading Wittenberg goal scorer, finding the back of the net twice while winning seven draw controls and picking up two groundballs. Bre Donnelly led the Tigers with six groundballs and one draw control victory.

 

GAME BREAKDOWN

After Wadds put the Tigers on the board, breaking the Mount Union 5-0 lead. Cassie Kennedy added the second Wittenberg goal with just over 20 minutes remaining in the first half. Wadds would tally her second goal of the game just before the 12-minute mark of the first half. The Tigers would put up their final goal of the first half when Shannon Brown connected with Gabby Zysik for the fourth Tiger score. Wittenberg finished the game 17 of 23 on their clear attempts for the game. Wittenberg found their way back into the scoring column halfway through the second half with Faith Meads scoring the unassisted goal. Victoria Zysik would be the final Tiger to find the back of the net, scoring the unassisted goal with just under 10 minutes of action left. As the Mount Union defense was able to keep the Tiger offense from generating any momentum off of six free position shot attempts during 60 minutes of action.

 

UP NEXT: The Wittenberg Tigers will travel to Oberlin College on Saturday, March 24 for an 11:00 AM showdown with the Yeowomen.
