GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Wittenberg picked up its 27th-straight conference victory with a 16-9 win at DePauw on Saturday, improving to 8-3 overall and 5-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

The visiting Tigers scored the first five goals of the game and seven of the first nine to take a commanding 11-4 lead by halftime. Senior Logan Warye (Maineville, Ohio/Kings) scored the opening goal on a free position shot after just 32 seconds had elapsed, and scored again only 31 seconds later on an assist from sophomore Becca Joseph (Toledo, Ohio/St. Ursula).  Then it was Joseph's turn as she reeled off three straight goals over the course of just 56 seconds.

DePauw scored their first goal to interrupt the string, but Joseph was right back at it with Wittenberg's sixth goal of the game in unassisted fashion. The hosts would score three more times down the stretch compared to four more goals for Wittenberg, including two scores and one assist for Joseph.

Joseph finished the game with seven goals, good to re-tie her second-place figure in the team's single-game records, and two assists for a team-best nine points on 10 shots. She also had three ground balls and a team-leading two caused turnovers.

Warye scored six goals and picked up a team-best five groundballs and secured five draw controls with one caused turnover. Leading the effort to control the draw was junior Carrie Kubasta (Medina, Ohio/Medina), who corralled the sphere eight times in the game and otherwise had three ground balls and a caused turnover.

Senior Megan Loofbourrow (Prospect, Ky./Ballard) scored three times and senior Beth Hubbard (West Hartford, Conn./Notre Dame de Sion (Mo.)) and freshman Victoria Zysik (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) each counted an assist among their game totals, along with four ground balls and a caused turnover for Zysik, three ground balls for Loofbourrow, and one caused turnover and one ground ball for Hubbard.

In goal, junior Katie Reuter (Cleveland, Ohio/Hathaway Brown) snagged the victory while making six saves and allowing only four goals during her 30 minutes of first half action. Freshman Faith Mahnke (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) played the remainder of the game and made three saves.

Wittenberg next preps for two straight home games, starting with Allegheny for Senior Recognition Day on Saturday, April 18, at 1 p.m., followed by Wooster on Wednesday, April 22, at 7 p.m. The Tigers close the regular season at Ohio Wesleyan at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 25.
