WOOSTER, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers continued their offensive barrage, improving to 4-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) after doubling up on the College of Wooster for a 22-11 victory.

The 20-goal outburst was Wittenberg's fourth of the season, and it was one short of the season high posted three other times. More importantly, the Tigers ran their record to 8-2 overall while remaining atop the league's regular season standings with three games to play.

Following a recent pattern, the Tigers got off to a slow start, falling behind 4-2 over the course of the game's opening 10 minutes. Wittenberg then took control of the game, outscoring the Scots by an 8-3 margin the rest of the first half.

The momentum carried over to the final 30 minutes as Wittenberg pushed a three-goal halftime edge to an 11-goal margin by game's end. Key to the offensive push in the second half was improved play from the defense, especially sophomore goalkeeper Katie Reuter (Cleveland, Ohio/Hathaway Brown). After making two saves and allowing eight goals in the opening half, Reuter held Wooster to just three goals against five saves in the second frame.

For a second straight game, sophomore Olivia Lash (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) led the offense with six goals. Senior Alie Marousek (Ballston Lake, NY/Portsmouth (NH)) added five goals on five shots, in addition to an assist.

Other standouts in the game for Wittenberg included junior Logan Warye (Maineville, Ohio/Kings), who poured in five goals, three assists, three ground balls, five draw controls and five caused turnovers. Junior Beth Hubbard (West Hartford, Conn./Notre Dame de Sion (Mo.)) contributed two goal and two assists, and senior Francine Murzynski (Mentor, Ohio/Lake Catholic) enjoyed a record-tying performance, in addition to three assists, four ground balls and two caused turnovers, the midfielder won 11 draw controls to tie an 18-year-old school record.
