GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Wittenberg Tigers outscored Thiel 10-1 over the final 11:27 of the first half and cruised from there for a road victory over the Tomcats and a 2-0 road trip.

Less than 24 hours after pulling out an overtime victory over Allegheny in a first-place showdown in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), the Tigers overcame a slow start to secure a comfortable win over the Tomcats. Wittenberg improved to 7-2 overall, heading into a stretch of four straight NCAC games before the regular season finale against Carthage on April 27.

Thiel fell to 5-7 on the season.

The Tomcats jumped on top in the early going and held a 4-2 lead after a goal at the 19:26 mark. At that point, the potent Wittenberg offense took over, scoring three straight goals to kickstart a half-ending 13-2 outburst that staked the Tigers to a 15-6 halftime lead. The two teams played a nearly even second half, with Wittenberg holding a narrow 8-7 advantage.

Wittenberg held a 31-27 advantage in shots in the game. In goal, the Tigers picked up three saves in each half from the tandem of sophomores Katie Reuter (Cleveland, Ohio/Hathaway Brown) and Maddy Kelly (Columbus, Ohio/Bexley).

Offensively, sophomore Olivia Lash (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) showed the way with a career-high six goals. Junior Logan Warye (Maineville, Ohio/Kings) continued her spectacular play with five goals and four assists for nine total points. Her season totals now stand at 51 total points and 37 goals, both of which rank 18th in program history.

Senior Francine Murzynski (Mentor, Ohio/Lake Catholic) played another outstanding all-around game, totaling three goals, five assists, six ground balls, three draw controls and four caused turnovers. Senior Alie Marousek (Ballston Lake, NY/Portsmouth (NH)) chipped in with two goals, two assists, two ground balls, five draw controls and two caused turnovers.
