Tigers Start Strong With Spring Break Victory Over Neumann

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Wittenberg women's lacrosse team opened the 2007-08 season with a bang on Tuesday, winning big over Neumann by a score of 20-8 in a spring break contest in West Palm Beach, Fla.

The Tigers started strong, rattling off three unanswered goals to begin the game. Throughout the course of the action, every player on the roster saw the field, and according to Head Coach Kati Robbins, "everyone played awesome."

Senior Amber Cupples (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) led all players with five goals, followed by junior Lizzie Amarello (Sutton, Mass./Worcester Academy) who found the net four times. Sophomore goalkeepBonnie Kenney (Lutherville, Md./Park School) made seven saves in the game, while junior Megan Meige (Columbus, Ohio/DeSales) dished out four assists.

Women's lacrosse action continues tomorrow against Gettysburg College at noon in Orlando.
