Rising Sun, Indiana – The Wittenberg Women's Golf team posted their best finish of the 2019-20 season over the course of the last two days as the Tigers finished third out of five teams at The Rumble at Rising Star, played at the par-71, 5,740-yard Links at Rising Star Casino and Resort in southern Indiana.

After shooting an opening round team score of 340 on Sunday, the Tigers shaved seven strokes off that tally for a 333 on Monday. In total, Wittenberg finished the two-day event with 673 strokes, which was just two-strokes behind second-place Transylvania's score of 671 (337-334). Mt. St. Joseph won their home event with a 36-hole score of 638 (315-323).

Two of Wittenberg's four scoring golfers finished inside the top-10 in the 32-golfer field, led by senior Megan Selby earning her best finish in a collegiate event by finishing in a tie for fifth with MSJ's Hayley Qualman. Selby opened play with an 83 on Sunday, before carding an 81 on Monday to finish the two-day event with 164 total strokes. Her score was 10 strokes off the medalist winner as Transylvania's Lexie LaMar took home the top prize in the individual standings with a 154 (76-78).

In addition to Selby, freshman Elizabeth Uhl had a breakout performance for the Red and White in her fourth collegiate tournament as she posted a two-day score of 165 (81-84), which was good for seventh-place in the final individual standings. The back-to-back rounds in the 80's were the best two rounds for Uhl this season as she is now starting to settle into the daily grind of intercollegiate competition.

Following Uhl, junior Jordan Jarrett occupied the 12th spot in the individual standings with a 168 (88-80), while classmate Erin Adams finished 21st overall with a 36-hole score of 176 (88-88).

The women's team will close out the fall portion of their 2019-20 schedule next week, October 7-8, as they travel to Ligonier, Pennsylvania, for the Carnegie Mellon Tartan Invitational at Laurel Valley Golf Club.
