Tigers Take Second at NCAC Fall Preview

MANSFIELD, Ohio—Wittenberg women's golf concluded the fall with a second-place finish at the NCAC Fall Preview on Sunday and Monday. The Tigers took the 5,384 yard Westbrook Counry Club course by storm, as all-six Tigers claimed top-20 finishes. As a team, Wittenberg finished with a two-day score of 678 (+86), behind DePauw 664 (+72).

Jane Hopkinson-Wood continued her dominant senior campaign, claiming yet another medalist honor, carding rounds of 79-76 for a two-day score of 155 (+7). Hopkinson-Wood's first-place finish came five-strokes ahead of her next closest NCAC foe.

Devon Atchison helped guide the Tigers to a second-place team finish, finishing T6 at 170 (+22), carding back-to-back rounds of 85. Megan Selby also cracked the top-ten for the Tigers, finishing +24 and all-alone in 9th place after a 172 (+24). Selby's best round came on day one, firing an 84.

Kelli Fisher and Matison Leand finished T15, both finishing at 177 (+29). Leand fired rounds of 86-91, while Fisher finished the preview with rounds of 89-88.

Brianna Yee rounded out the Tigers tournament, finishing T18 with a +31 179. While all of Wittenberg's participants made top-20 finishes, the difference was made up by DePauw as all five of their golfers finished in the top-10.

Hopkinson-Wood concludes the fall with medalist honors in all five tournaments that the Tigers played in, and is up to 13 individual tournament wins as a Tiger.
