DANVILLE, Indiana—Wittenberg women's golf continued their impressive start to the year at the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic over the weekend. Wittenberg traveled across the state-line to Indiana for 36 holes at the Twin Bridges Golf Club, as the tournament was hosted by fellow NCAC member DePauw University.

Wittenberg came up short of top team-honors by a stroke, as the team fired a two-day score of 617 (+41), one off Washington University who finished at 616 (+40). The Tigers finished well ahead of NCAC foes DePauw and Denison, as the Tigers were up 11 strokes on DePauw, and 45 on Denison.

Individually, Jane Hopkinson-Wood ran away with the tournament medalist honors after an opening round score of 73. Hopkinson-Wood stayed consistent in her second round on Sunday, tallying a 74 to finish the tournament with a two-day score of 147 (+3). Washington University saw their group take second, third, fourth and eighth place, while Kelli Fisher got in on the scoring for the Tigers. The sophomore recorded her best tournament finish as a Tiger, finishing T4 after carding rounds of 79-74= 153 (+9).

Brianna Yee claimed seventh place for the Tigers after finishing the opening round with a 71, one-shot off the overall lead. Yee fired a second round 83 to finish +10 for the weekend.

Wittenberg takes a break from tournament play until October 7 and 8, when the Tigers host the Pat Clouse Invitational at Springfield Country Club.
