DELAWARE, Ohio – The Wittenberg Tigers finished third in the season-ending North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championship Series #2 hosted by Ohio Wesleyan and held on for second place in the final conference standings.

The Tigers carded rounds of 336 and 335 to finish with a 671, 32 strokes behind fourth-ranked DePauw. In the final NCAC Championship Series standings, DePauw held a comfortable 58-stroke advantage over Wittenberg, which finished at 1,329 over four rounds – two hosted by Denison last weekend and two hosted by Ohio Wesleyan at the par-72, 5,890-yard Oakhaven Golf Course.

As a result, DePauw earned the NCAC's automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament May 14-17 at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Destin, Fla. Wittenberg, ranked 12th nationally, will now await word on an at-large berth, which would be the Tigers' first-ever national tourney bid.

Individually, All-NCAC honors are in store for multiple Tigers, starting with freshman Maggie Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore), who carded a four-round total of 324 to finish sixth. She was followed in the overall standings by freshman Allie Lawwill (Springboro, Ohio/Middletown) with a 330 to place eighth, sophomore Nicole Waers (Canton, Ohio/Perry) with a 341 to place 12th, junior Deanna Mychalishyn (Mason, Ohio/Mason) with a 349 to finish 15th and sophomore Carolyn Wong (Naperville, Ill./Central) with a 350 to place 16th.

In the Ohio Wesleyan competition, Lawwill led with a two-round total of 162 to finish sixth. Waers was next with a 172 to finish ninth, Mychalishyn and Smith posted matching 174s to tie for 11th and Wong rounded things out with a 182 to place 20th.
