Tigers Turn In Solid Finish at Loaded Illinois Wesleyan Invitational
The Wittenberg Tigers turned in a strong finish against a large and talented field at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational, placing ninth in a 27-team field that included multiple nationally ranked NCAA Division III teams and multiple NAIA and NCAA Division II scholarship programs.

NORMAL, Ill. — The Wittenberg Tigers turned in a strong finish against a large and talented field at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational, placing ninth in a 27-team field that included multiple nationally ranked NCAA Division III teams and multiple NAIA and NCAA Division II scholarship programs.
The 23rd-ranked Tigers turned in a two-round team total of 668 after rounds of 336 and 332 at the par-72, 5,835-yard Ironwood Golf Course. Washington University won the event with a score of 617, four shots clear of new North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) member DePauw.
Individually, Wittenberg was paced by sophomore Deanna Mychalishyn (Mason, Ohio/Mason), who placed 28th in the 132-player field with a two-round total of 163. Freshman Rachel Steiner (Hamilton, Ohio/Lakota West) was right behind with a 164, good for 41st place.
Rounding things out, senior Anne Busam (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline) carded a 169 to finish 57th, senior Carrie Frey (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) checked in with a 173 to place 67th and freshman Nicole Waers (Canton, Ohio/Perry) added a 175 to finish 75th.
The Tigers return to action next weekend at the DePauw Small College Classic.
