MEADVILLE, Pa. — For the second straight week, the Wittenberg women's golf team ran into inclement weather conditions. Like the DePauw Small College Classic, the Allegheny Invitational was shortened to 18 holes due to rain as the Tigers placed fourth in the 10-team field.

Wittenberg posted a score of 342 to finish 22 strokes behind DePauw. Walsh placed second at 327 and the host Gators took third at 335.

Individually, the Tigers' top finisher was sophomore Deanna Mychalishyn (Mason, Ohio/Mason) with a 10-over-par 83, including a sterling back-nine score of 39. She placed 10th in the 57-player field.

Right behind was freshman Nicole Waers (Canton, Ohio/Perry) with an 84, good for 13th place. Senior Anne Busam (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline) added an 87 to finish 17th and freshman Rachel Steiner (Hamilton, Ohio/Lakota West) rounded things out with an 88 to finish 19th.

Wittenberg will put the finishing touches on the 2011 fall season with the annual Pat Clouse Invitational at Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield on Oct. 8-9.
