Tigers Finish In Top Half At Loaded DePauw Small College Classic

CLAYTON, Ind. — The Wittenberg Tigers continued their challenging 2009 fall schedule with a stellar performance at the DePauw Small College Classic.

Wittenberg placed seventh in the 16-team field, which included several ranked teams, led by St. Mary's, which ran away with the team title, shooting 635. The Tigers finished at 701, 13 strokes behind Centre for sixth place.

Individually, the Tigers were paced by sophomore Anne Busam (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline), who bounced back from her most difficult weekend as a collegian at John Carroll to put together rounds of 79 and 83 for a 162 total, good for ninth place.

Next up was freshman Meghann Greene (North Royalton, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) with a 175, good for 37th place. She was followed by freshman Jenna Lisic (Orrville, Ohio/Orrville) in 51st place with a 181, sophomore Nicole Momsen (Sylvania, Ohio/St. Ursula) in 55th place with a 183 and sophomore Carrie Frey (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) in 62nd place with a 187.

Wittenberg steps out of NCAA Division III action for the second time during the fall season on Oct. 5-6 when the Tigers travel to Marshall for the Lady Herd Classic in Hurricane, W.Va.
