Tigers Finish 10th In Fall Season-Ending Clash At The Clouse

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg Tigers paid tribute to their program founder with their annual fall tournament, turning in a 10th place finish in the Pat Clouse Invitational at Windy Knoll Golf Club. 

The 17-team field also included Wittenberg's B team, which placed 13th overall on the par-71, 5821-yard links style course. Findlay rallied from 11 strokes behind on Day 1 to capture a two-stroke team victory with a score of 644, followed by Walsh at 646 and DePauw at 662. After finishing Day 1 tied for eighth place, the Tigers lost out on the three-way battle for eighth, finishing at 715, four strokes behind Ohio Dominican and two behind Northwestern Ohio.

Individually, Wittenberg's A team was paced by sophomore Nicole Momsen (Sylvania, Ohio/St. Ursula) with a two-day total of 172, good for 24th place. Sophomore Anne Busam (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline) was next with a 179, good for 43rd, followed by freshman Jenna Lisic (Orrville, Ohio/Orrville) with a 181 (46th), freshman Meghann Greene (North Royalton, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) with a 185 (49th) and sophomore Heather Hendrickson (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Luers) with a 188 (53rd).

Wittenberg's B team was led by sophomore Carrie Frey (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas), who shot a two-day total of 177 to finish 36th. She was followed by freshman AnaLucia Medina (Avondale, Ariz./Westview) with a 191 (59th), senior Kaci McClure (Dublin, Ohio/Scioto) with a 201 (68th), sophomore Debbie Vogt (Lansing, Mich./Waverly) with a 206 (74th) and freshman Miranda Pettit (Crawfordsville, Ind./North Montgomery) with a 223 (85th).

The fall 2009 season is now complete.
