Tigers Take Second Straight Second Place, This Time At Ohio Northern Invitational

HARROD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers continued to impress, this time placing second among eight teams at the Ohio Northern Invitational.

The strong finish came just three days after the Tigers placed eighth in the Transylvania Invitational. Both tournaments were shortened to one day - Transylvania by weather concerns and Ohio Northern due to scheduling conflicts.

The Tigers scored 358 as a team, just seven strokes behind host Ohio Northern on the par-72, 5904-yard Colonial Golfers Club and three ahead of Walsh University. At Transylvania, it was the host team to take the measure of the Tigers as well.

A pair of individual 85s keyed the Tigers' strong performance as senior Jennifer Petro (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) and freshman Anne Busam (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline) tied for third place. Not far behind was freshman Carrie Frey (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas), who carded a 93 to take 15th place.

Rounding things was freshman Nicole Momsen (Sylvania, Ohio/St. Ursula) with a 95, good for 23rd place in the 53-player field.
