After two years away from the program, Tom Franz has returned to the Wittenberg women’s basketball program. He has been a part of eight of Wittenberg's 11 NCAC titles and nearly 300 of Head Coach Pam Smith's career victories.
Franz retired after a 24-year career coaching the Mechanicsburg High School girls’ basketball program. Franz, who at one time also coached boys’ basketball, had a 364-196 career record.
A 1959 graduate of Ohio State, Franz also owns a master’s degree from the University of Dayton. Franz and his wife Brenda reside in Mechanicsburg. They have five grown children.
