Tigers Land Tenth Straight Win

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned home for their sixth conference match-up of the season, taking on the Terriers of Hiram during Alumni Day. Wittenberg has seen Hiram 47 times in program history with a .933 success rate over the Terriers and were able to add one more win to the record book after a 61-31 final score.

The Tigers shot 46.2% from the field, 11.1% in three points, and 70.0% from the line going 12-17. Wittenberg was able to put 61 points on the board being led by guard Jazmyn Gaines-Burns with 13 points and seven rebounds followed by Jade Simpson with 12 points and Molly Scott with 11 points.

Wittenberg was able to put 18 points on the board in the first quarter and added another 15 to overwhelm the Terriers with a 33-11 score heading into the half. Coming out of the locker room, Wittenberg was able to put up  11 more points while Hiram was only able to tally nine in the third quarter. The Red & White put up 17 points in the final quarter of play for a total of 61 points, taking down Hiram with a score of 61-31.

This marks the Red & White's tenth straight win and sixth conference win of the season. The Tigers will see the Terriers again in action later in the season on the road on February 15th for a rematch.
