Tigers Remain Number One in NCAC Play

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned to Pam Evans Smith Arena for their fifth conference match-up of the season. The women took on the Owls of Kenyon College. The Tigers were able to put up 62 points on their home court compared to Kenyon's 40 for their ninth win in a row, remaining number one in NCAC play.

The Tigers shot 40.6% from the field, 28.6% in three points, and 80.0% from the line going 8-10. Wittenberg was able to put 62 points on the board being led by guard Taryn Cash with 14 points and five rebounds. Defensively, the Tigers were backed by Jade Simpson with nine rebounds.

Wittenberg was able to put 21 points on the board in just the first quarter and added another 12 to head into the half with 33-16 lead over the Owls. Coming out of the locker room, Wittenberg was able to tally 13 more points while Kenyon was only able to garner nine in the third quarter. The Red & White put up 16 points in the final quarter of play for a total of 62 points, taking down Kenyon with a score of 62-40.

This marks the Red & White's ninth straight win and fith conference win of the season. The Tigers will see the Owls again in action later in the season on the road on February 11th for a rematch.
