Brar Leads Tigers in Conference Win

Springfield, OH- The Tigers stepped back on the court today for a rescheduled match-up against the Terriers of Hiram College. Wittenberg was coming off of a Senior Day win against Allegheny and looked to keep their winning streak going against the Terriers. The Tigers have dominated in the past, beating Hiram 44 times in program history. Wittenberg was able to continue the win streak with a 75-58 win over the Terriers to remain top four in the conference.

The Tigers were led by Delaney Williams, Abigail Yunker, Kristie Kalis, Jade Simpson, and Kelsey Ragan on the court as Wittenberg's starting five. The starting line-up accumulated a total of 34 points, 27 rebounds, and an overall shooting percentage of 40%.

Hiram was able to get out of the gates hard, outscoring the Tigers in the first quarter 17-14. Wittenberg's first points came from Kristie Kalis in the fifth minute of play. Joining in on scoring power for the Red & White were underclassmen Kelsey Ragan, Jaida Malone, Jade Simpson, Kylee Slone, and Lauren Legate. The Tigers were able to bounce back in the second quarter with 16 points while the Terriers were only able to put up ten for a close 30-27 score heading into the half. At the end of the second quarter, Wittenberg led statistics in field goal percentage with 38.7% and rebounds with 16.

Wittenberg stepped up their game in the third quarter with 24 points to change the momentum in the game. Energy from Semie Brar and McKenna Baker led to 17 points for the Tigers and a 54-41 lead heading into the final quarter. Wittenberg continued to outscore Hiram in the fourth with 21 points. ;

Wittenberg Leaders- The Tigers had ten different individuals score, being led by Semie Brar with 15 points, going 6-9 from the field, 1-1 in threes, and 2-4 from the line. Defensively, Kristie Kalis led the way with 10 rebounds.

NCAC Leaders- Five Tigers continue to sit in the top ten in the NCAC for statistics. Kristie Kalis sits at number nine in the conference for points this season with 239 prior to today's match-up. Kalis also lands in the top ten for field goals made this season, being put on the line 208 times and making 84 of those. Kalis continues to lead the way in three points made at number three with 38 shots being made while Yunker lands at number ten with 24. Yunker comes in at number one in the conference for three-point percentage with an average of 47.1%. Just behind in three-point percentage is Kelsey Ragan at number eight with a 34.8% average. Going 38-45, Yunker lands at number one for field goal percentage with a 84.4% success rate. On the ball control side, Jade Simpson lands at number two in the conference for rebounds with 172; 112 being defensive and 60 being offensive. Delaney Williams sits at number three for assists on the season with 81 and number five in steals with 37 on the season.
