Springfield, OH- The Tigers were back home for a match-up with the Denison Big Red. Before tip-off, Wittenberg celebrated graduating senior, Nora Hopkins. The Avon, OH native "chose Wittenberg for the education program, the team, and the winning atmosphere." Although Nora was unable to compete this season due to injury, she was able to rack up 89 career points with a 100% record from the free throw line.

From tip-off, Wittenberg was able to gain control of the game and getting the first points on the board with a lay-up from Jade Simpson. The Red and White took an early lead over the Big Red with a 23-13 score at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was no different, with Wittenberg getting points on the board first with a lay-up from Kristie Kalis. The Tigers were able to maintain their lead in the second quarter, adding 18 points. Wittenberg was able to go 59.3% from the field and 50% off the free throw line in the first half, being led by Abigail Yunker with 17 points and Kalis with 15 to give Wittenberg a 41-28 lead over Denison.

Wittenberg came out of the half strong and were able to shutdown Denison offense. The Tigers were able to limit the Big Red to only eight points in the third quarter while putting up 25 points to extend the lead by 30 points. The fourth quarter proved to be a little more challenging for the Red and White, with Denison outscoring Wittenberg but the Tigers were able to maintain their lead with the help of Kalis and Yunker who had a combined 53 points on the night. Wittenberg defeated Denison with a final score of 76-56 and will be back tomorrow to see the Big Red on their court.
