Wooster, OH- Wittenberg was back in action against the Fighting Scots of Wooster College on the road. The Tigers were able to claim another victory over the Fighting Scots with a score of 62-55.
Abigail Yunker started the first quarter off strong, putting nine points up on the board and grabbing five rebounds. The Tigers quickly gained a lead over the Fighting Scots and were able to get past their defense to put 20 points up compared to the nine that Wooster had. Wittenberg was able to expand their lead in the second quarter with Kristie Kalis leading the way with seven points while Evie Wolshire and Jade Simpson picked up three rebounds each. Wittenberg held onto their lead and headed into the half with a score of 35 to 18.
The second half of the game became more challenging for the Tigers who were unable to outscore the Fighting Scots but were able to maintain their lead in the game. Evie Wolshire came alive in the third quarter with eight points to lead Wittenberg in points before tallying four more in the fourth quarter. Wittenberg solidified their win over Wooster and are now 3-3 on the season.
The Tigers were led by Abigail Yunker who put up 19 points, followed by Evie Wolshire with 18 points. The two also picked up nine rebounds for Wittenberg.
Up Next: The women will be back in action on their home court on March 5th against Denison. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 PM. There will be limited spectators but the game can be viewed virtually from wittenbergtigers.com
