Driscoll Claims First Head Coach Win

Springfield, OH- The Tigers were back in action at home to take on #7 DePauw for the second time this season. The last time the two met, DePauw was able to take the game with a close 48-41 score. This time the Red and White looked to bring speed and take the lead early. Wittenberg fought back-and-forth in a close battle and were able to take down DePauw with a score of 41-35, giving Head Coach Valerie Driscoll her first career win as head coach.

Wittenberg got the first points on the board from freshman, Jade Simpson, followed by Samantha Wyatt and Mackenzie Pauley who were able to put Wittenberg ahead. The Red and White were able to hold onto the lead until the end of the first quarter when DePauw tied it up 10-10. Both teams went back and forth, tying the game up three separate times in the second quarter but Wittenberg was able to take the lead heading into the half with a three-pointer from Evie Wolshire.

The third quarter brought hope to Wittenberg who tallied 10 points and kept DePauw to six. A layup from Kristie Kalis brought the score to 30-26 and two more points from Kalis left DePauw behind 32-26 to head into the final quarter. Wittenberg kept the lead in the fourth quarter and claimed their first win of the season, taking down DePauw with a score of 41-35.

The Tigers were led by seniors, Abigail Yunker and Kristie Kalis along with freshman Evie Wolshire who all tallied eight points each.
