2021 Women's Basketball Season Preview

Springfield, OH -- Wittenberg women's basketball is coming off of a 2019-2020 season that ended with a 19-8 overall, finishing 11-5 in NCAC action. The Tigers finished the 2020 season strong, going 4-2 over their final six games. Wittenberg averaged nearly 65 points per game a year ago, while holding their opponents to just under 56 points per contest. The Tigers graduated 3 seniors from last season; Riley Culver, Korynne Berner, and Jenna Bluemlein. Wittenberg will look to strong guard play as the Tigers lost three forwards from a season ago. This Tiger women's basketball team is welcoming 7 newcomers into the fold this year. Wittenberg will also welcome the return of Junior guard McKenna Baker, and sophomore guard Mackenzie Pauley.

Abigail Yunker, averaged 10 points per game last season while shooting 41% from the floor.  Yunker will be a key player all around for the Tigers this year, leading the Tigers at the guard position. Kristie Kalis comes off a 13 ppg average last year, averaging 41% shooting from the field. Kalis returns as the Tigers leading rebounder, reeling in just over six boards per contest. Sam Wyatt looks to step into a larger role within the Tiger offense, averaging four points per game with two rebounds a year ago.
