Tigers Face Tough Loss to #23 DePauw, 61-52

GREENCASTLE, Ind. – In a Tiger-showdown, the red and white suffer a tough come-from-behind loss against NCAC-foe #23 DePauw Wednesday Night, 61-52. Three visiting Tigers controlled the offense, posting double-digit scores on the night. Riley Culver (15), McKenna Baker (14) and Delaney Williams (10) led the Wittenberg scoring efforts. Defensively, sophomore-dup Kristie Kalis and Korynne Berner grabbed seven balls off the board apiece, accounting for half of the team's rebounds combined. Culver was the player to watch, also passing the ball off for three assists to her name.

HOW IT HAPPENED  DePauw dominated the first half, splitting the quarters 29-9 after the first and 39-16 going into the break. The red and white rebounded into the second half, rallying 17 points in favor of Wittenberg through the third quarter and later 19 points in the fourth. The Tiger defense held down DePauw to eight and 14 points in the final two quarters respectively, ultimately turning a 25-point deficit in the first quarter to a nine-point loss.

BY THE NUMBERS  Only shooting 31.6 percent from the floor, Wittenberg found consistency at the free throw line, scoring 11 of 15 free shot attempts. Nine offensive rebounds led to two points on second chance. Defensively, the red and white scored 14 points off of 17 turnovers by the opposition. In addition, seven steals forced DePauw take-aways.
