Springfield, Ohio – Freshman Delaney Williams has earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference Honorable Mention. This comes on the heels of the Wittenberg women's basketball team making a stellar run through the NCAC Tournament, which included their first trip to the finals since the 2014-15 season by taking down nationally ranked and the conference top-seed DePauw University. Williams finished her first NCAC tournament with 37 points, 13 rebounds, and 14 assists.

 

The Lake Forest, Ill. product started all 28 games for the Tigers in her first season, averaging 10.9 (11.9 in NCAC action) points per game on 38 percent shooting from the floor. Exceeding the double-digit point mark 14 times this season with two 20+ games, including a game-high of 25 at Allegheny. Williams contributed in all aspects for the Tigers, logging a season-high nine assists at Wooster, pulling down eight rebounds on her home floor against the Fighting Scots and three times tallying seven boards on the season.

 

The first-year guard averaged 4.0 assists per game with just over three boards per contest and 1.6 steals per game. Williams played exceptionally well in NCAC action shooting 40 percent from the field and 35 percent from deep range. Williams saw a gradual upswing in her scoring average and shooting percentage through the season, averaging 9.9 points in November shooting 30 percent from the field through six games. At the start of the new year through six games, Williams improved to 12.2 points per game in January and 39 percent shooting from the floor. Williams closed out her final eight games averaging 17.6 points per game, converting on 46 percent from the floor and 34 percent from beyond the arc.
