WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Wittenberg Tigers overcame a slow start to outscore Pitt-Greensburg in each of the last three quarters en route to a 70-55 victory in the consolation game of the Hyatt Place Pittsburgh South Women's Basketball Tournament at Washington & Jefferson.

The win was Wittenberg's first of the young season after opening with losses to Marietta and Otterbein, which came on the first night of the tournament. Pitt-Greensburg, which lost to the host Presidents a day earlier, dropped to 0-3.

The key to the game was improved offensive efficiency for the Tigers, who shot a season-best 44 percent from the field and committed a season-low 12 turnovers. Those figures allowed Wittenberg to overcome a 21-15 deficit at the end of the first quarter, although it took the Tigers until the fourth stanza to pull away and secure the win. Wittenberg outscored Pitt-Greensburg 17-7 in the final 10 minutes.

Four Wittenberg players scored in double figures in the game, led by senior Taylore Bundy (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) with 17 points as she made 7-of-12 shots from the field. She also contributed five rebounds and three assists.

Sophomore Becca Ziska (Brook Park, Ohio/Berea-Midpark) added 14 points, four assists and three steals. She hit 4-of-8 from three-point range en route to earning All-Tournament Team honors.

Also reaching double figures offensively were junior Madison Linn (Piqua, Ohio/Miami East) with a career-high 13 points off the bench, and junior Riley McDonald (Dexter, Mich./Dexter) with 11 points. Linn made 7-of-10 from the free throw line.
