SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Wittenberg women's basketball team sent out its three seniors with an appropriate final push to the end of an 88-62 win over Oberlin on Saturday.

Leading by just eight points with 12:29 left in the second half, the Tigers won the rest of the game by a 30-12 margin to finish with a 26-point advantage when the horn sounded. The victory moved Wittenberg to 14-10 overall and 9-7 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC).

The final effort was fittingly led by senior Amber Rice (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern), who poured in 13 of her total 30 points over the final 12 minutes. She joined injured guard Kiley McCollough (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) and student assistant coach Lily Watson (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) as the seniors honored in their final home game in Pam Evans Smith Arena.

The Tigers rallied behind the senior trio by shooting 52 percent (35-67) from the field in the game, including a blistering 61.5 percent (8-13) from three-point range, led by the 12-17 field goals and 4-6 three-point goal shooting of Rice.

Junior Heather Schroeder (Aurora, Ohio/Aurora) helped the shooting percentage by going 7-of-11 from the floor on her way to 17 points. Junior Katelyn Haralamos (Maineville, Ohio/Kings) dropped in with 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting and contributed a team-high four assists.

Sophomore Ali Miller (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) paced the team's rebounding with seven boards, followed by five each from Schroeder and freshman Riley McDonald (Dexter, Mich./Dexter).

As a team, the Tigers benefitted from monster post play that amounted to nine blocked shots, including two each from sophomore Taylore Bundy (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) and junior Darbie Zirkle (St. Paris, Ohio/Graham). At the other end, the strong inside game led to 42 points in the paint.

With the regular season concluded, the Tigers head to Gambier, Ohio, on Tuesday to open the 2014 NCAC Tournament at Kenyon College for a quarterfinal matchup at a time to be determined.
