GAMBIER, Ohio – The Wittenberg women's basketball team will finish its series with Kenyon this year in a split after a 74-59 loss on the road Wednesday night. The Tigers move to 13-10 overall and 8-7 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) with the loss.

The Ladies improved to 14-9 overall and 9-6 in the NCAC, earning the series split by defending their home court following the Tigers' 61-47 victory in Springfield on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Despite the loss, it was another fine outing for senior guard Amber Rice (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern), who compiled her eighth 20-point game of the season. She finished with an even 20 on 5-of-9 field goal shooting, including 4-of-7 from three-point range, and a perfect 6-of-6 at the free throw line.

Just behind Rice was junior guard Enri Small (Columbus, Ohio/Columbus School for Girls), chipping in 18 points in 17 minutes behind 6-of-12 shooting. Rice and Small split team rebounding honors with freshman guard Michelle Brunswick (Middletown, Ohio/Madison), as all three finished with five boards.

The Tigers were accurate at the free throw line, shooting 81.5 percent from the stripe for the game, including four makes in four attempts for junior wing Heather Schroeder (Aurora, Ohio/Aurora), who finished the game with eight points.

Wittenberg kept the rebounding nearly even, with a final tally of 31 boards for Kenyon and 30 for the Tigers, and posted 15 steals, including five for freshman guard Riley McDonald (Dexter, Mich./Dexter), but the Ladies had the hot hand to answer. As a team, the Ladies shot 51 percent from the floor and 58 percent from three-point range.

The Tigers return to Pam Evans Smith Arena to close out the regular season with a 2 p.m. Senior Day game against the Oberlin Yeowomen on Saturday, Feb. 22.
