DELAWARE, Ohio – The Wittenberg women's basketball team was outscored 27-6 over the final 12:20 by host Ohio Wesleyan as the Battling Bishops pulled away for a 63-45 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) victory.

The loss dropped the Tigers to 9-10 overall. More importantly, Wittenberg is now in fifth place in the NCAC with a record of 5-5. Ohio Wesleyan is just 6-14 overall, but the Battling Bishops are now within one-half game of Wittenberg in the conference standings at 5-6.

After taking a two-point lead into the locker room at halftime, Wittenberg continued to hold the lead through most of the first eight minutes of the second half before the roof caved in. Leading 39-36 after a lay-up by senior Kim Replogle (Houston, Ohio/Houston), the Tigers were outscored 15-2 over the next four minutes to find themselves in a 10-point hole.

It got worse from there as the Battling Bishops kept up the offensive pressure while the Tigers managed just four free throws over the final eight minutes.

Ohio Wesleyan shot 46.6 percent from the field while harassing Wittenberg into a paltry 29 percent shooting performance at the other end.

Individually, Replogle led the Tigers with 14 points and eight rebounds in 25 quality minutes off the bench. Junior Amber Rice (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern) added 13 points and eight rebounds.
