Season-Opening Four-Game Road Trip Ends With Loss At Capital

BEXLEY, Ohio — The Wittenberg women's basketball team made it interesting, but ultimately the Tigers fell to Capital University 49-38 on the road Tuesday night to move to 1-3 overall on the season.

Strong rebounding down the stretch kept the Tigers in a game which saw them down by 10 points at 44-34 with 3:15 to go. Wittenberg cut the lead to six points over the next 1:19, in part by outrebounding Capital 7-3 over the final three minutes of the game.

Two Tigers split the team scoring lead in the final box score, as junior Kim Replogle (Houston, Ohio/Houston) and senior Lyndsey Clark (New Carlisle, Ohio/Tecumseh) each tallied 11 points in the game, including two scores from long range for Clark.

Clark and Replogle also split the rebounding lead with junior Sarah Skidmore (Troy, Ohio/Miami East) as each finished with seven boards. Freshman Enri Small (Columbus, Ohio/Columbus School For Girls) made her time on the floor count with six points on 4-of-6 free throw shooting and five rebounds.

Wittenberg next suits up against former North Coast Athletic Conference rival Earlham in the season's first home game at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Pam Evans Smith Arena.
