Tigers Wrap Up Six-Game Road Trip With Loss at B-W

BEREA, Ohio — The Tiger women dropped their second contest in a row on the road against nationally-ranked Baldwin-Wallace by a 77-57 score.

Freshman post Sarah Watson (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson)provided one of the big bright spots for the Tigers on the night, tallying 14 points in the losing effort as Wittenberg fell to its second straight Ohio Athletic Conference opponent to fall to 4-2 overall on the season.

A 16-2 run out of the gate propelled the Yellow Jackets to their early advantage, and from there, the hosts never looked back. Sixty-three percent shooting from the floor in the first half built a 47-25 lead at the intermission.

The second half saw Wittenberg muster a rally, closing the deficit to 13 in the middle stretch of the second half. However, much like the rest of the night, the Yellow Jackets found the big shot, pulling the lead back out over the late minutes.

To go along with her tremendous night from the floor, Watson blocked three shots, collected six rebounds, and made two steals. Senior wing Katie Gardner (Newark, Ohio/Catholic) finished with eight points and three rebounds. The Tigers did manage to outrebound Baldwin-Wallace, 38-31, including a 19-7 margin on the offensive glass.

Wittenberg falls to 4-2 on the year, as they prepare to open the conference slate on Saturday, Dec. 6 with Denison. Game time is set for 2 p.m. from Pam Evans Smith Arena.
