Women's Basketball enjoys another high-scoring, record-setting afternoon

SPRINGFIELD, OHIO - A night after routing Hiram College by 53 points in North Coast Athletic Conference action, the Wittenberg Tigers were back at it on Saturday afternoon, racing past defending regular season co-champion Allegheny College 93-71 at the HPER Center.

The Tigers shot a school-record 50 free throws in the game and made a school-record 32. Four of Allegheny's five starters fouled out of the game and two other players committed four fouls.

Wittenberg was paced on offense by junior guard Stephanie Campbell, who exploded for 24 points, nine assists and six rebounds. She was ably backed by junior guard Kate Rolf, who hit for 18 points and six rebounds and junior forward Tiffany Keller, who came off the bench to pour in 19 points and grab six boards.

The win was Wittenberg's fourth straight since a loss at Defiance on Dec. 15 and was the Tigers' fourth against no defeats in NCAC contests. The Tigers, 9-3 overall, next travel to Delaware to take on 2001 NCAA Final Four participant Ohio Wesleyan in a crucial NCAC match-up.
